Smoke detection
We have all heard the radio adverts reminding us to test our smoke alarms.
So you pressed the test button... But is your smoke alarm really protecting you? The test button only tests the alarm - NOT the detector. If you have had your smoke detectors for around 10 years there is a good chance they are no longer reliable - even if the test button works and they go off when you grill sausages! The current standard requires that typically you should have a mains powered smoke or heat detector with a battery back up on each floor of your house, and that these should be interconnected so smoke anywhere triggers all the alarms. Think about it - if a fire starts downstairs while you're asleep - you want a loud alarm to sound outside your bedroom door. Are you REALLY adequately protected? Contact us for a FREE safety check and review of your fire protection. What have you got to lose? There are many other common fire risks as well which we can also check for you:
